About the Caprock Gravel Grind

The Caprock Gravel Grind is an off-road bicycle event hosted by the West Texas Cycling Association (Lubbock Bicycle Club & Chaparral Cycling Club) through the canyons of West Texas near Lubbock.  The ride goes along the scenic caprock escarpment through diverse and challenging terrain. The course consists primarily of gravel roads which have very little traffic, and the area is remote.

The ride consists of a 50K and 100K route, and, new for 2018, we're working on a 100 mile route!  You can race against other participants, race against yourself, or just enjoy the ride and beautiful scenery.

All rides start and finish at Southland School, and start times will be staggered with longer rides starting first.  Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers (male & female) in each event.   Participants will receive swag items and a complimentary lunch provided by a Southland School student organization with their registration fee.  Participants should expect to be self-supported on the course; however, there will be limited SAG support and limited rest stop supplies available at pre-determined areas of the course.  Course maps will be made available to participants both online (prior to the event) and at packet pickup.
